IU Health North & Trinity Free Clinic Making Women's Healthcare More Accessible.
An ongoing partnership between Trinity Free Clinic and Indiana University Health North is bringing critically needed healthcare to women, benefiting the entire community. Hundreds of low income and uninsured women have access to medical care they otherwise simply could not afford, due to the support of IU Health North.
As Indiana's most comprehensive healthcare system, IU Health understands the crucial need for exemplary women's services. Yet many do not receive such care because they lack government or private insurance or cannot afford high deductibles. These women, our neighbors, then turn to Trinity Free Clinic to receive annual exams, acute and preventative care, cancer screenings, patient advocacy and links to other social services.
In turn, Trinity Free Clinic looks to generous supporters such as IU Health North to help fund the thousands in lab tests, medical supplies and other expenses required to maintain these services. The healthcare provided to low income and uninsured women enables them to better care for their children, remain and move up in the workforce, help other family members, and/or pursue further education.
"Simply put, healthier women mean healthier families, and healthier families translate to improved well-being for the whole community," explains Trinity Free Clinic Executive Director Dina Ferchmin. This concept of making a positive impact through excellence in healthcare aligns closely with the vision of IU Health. As a result, more women in need across central Indiana are beginning to thrive through a partnership created to nurture the well-being and dignity of the whole community.
