Volunteer Spotlight: Nardine Ibrahim

We don’t exaggerate when we say that Trinity Free Clinic volunteers are super heroes in their own right.  Most of them work full time or are retired from a career in the medical field, but still make time to care for our patients.  Nardine Ibrahim is no exception.  She started volunteering with Trinity Free Clinic in March 2021 as a COVID-19 screener, Arabic interpreter, and pharmacy tech.  Much like our other outstanding volunteers, Nardine balances a hectic schedule and family life to serve her community.

Nardine followed her father, a pharmacy tech himself, into the medical field.  Her plan was to get certified as a pharmacy technician to decide if she wanted to continue her education by going to pharmacy school.  Though she currently works as a pharmacy tech at Meijer, she has decided that her calling lies in the engineering field instead.  She recently returned to school at IUPUI and is in her first semester of the biomedical engineering program.

Wait for it, though . . . Nardine isn’t the only member of her family volunteering at Trinity Free Clinic.  Her sister, Katherine, is also a volunteer!  Katherine is a first-year medical school student at Marian University, and volunteers as an Arabic interpreter and clinical assistant at Trinity.

Though Nardine has only been volunteering with us at Trinity Free Clinic for about a month, she has made a big impact in a short period of time.  Not only has she become a regular volunteer, but she also worked both shifts at our recent COVID-19 mass vaccination partnership with the Hamilton County Health Department.  During that day, she and other Trinity Free Clinic volunteers helped vaccinate 945 Hoosiers against the COVID-19 virus.

Nardine Ibrahim is shown here (far right) with Cindy Mock and Terry Mohr at Carmel’s first mass vaccination event in April. More than 100 Trinity Free Clinic volunteers and staff came together to fully vaccinate 945 Hoosiers against COVID-19 in just a single day!

We are deeply grateful to Nardine for her contributions to our mission and dedication to serving families in Hamilton County.  Thank you!
